Helpful Church

SYRIA
Amidst destruction, poverty, and lawlessness, we continue to alleviate the suffering of people in northern Syria and lead them to Jesus. A report from Kobane:

When the Assad regime fell, thousands of people fled to Kurdish areas in northern Syria. The flow of refugees continues unabated. Just recently, another 4,500 to 5,000 displaced persons sought safety in Kobane. Due to ethnic conflicts in the region, the number of internally displaced persons is expected to rise further. In and around the regional capital of Kobane, ACP has been running several projects for many years to ease the material and spiritual needs of the population.

Providing for destitute families

Our church is located here in Kobane. This symbol of security, freedom, and resistance instills a fear of God and has already deterred hostile aggressors from attacking the city on several occasions. In and in front of the church, our people regularly distribute food parcels to completely destitute families who are registered for this. After a war-related interruption, bread production in our bakery is also back in full swing.

Our orphanage in the Kurdish city is also in high demand and recognized by the city government. Likewise, the -- Hospitainer -- is back on the road in northern Syria: the mobile clinic visits refugee camps, cares for pregnant women and women in labor, and keeps children and seniors alive. The daily challenge is to procure the necessary medicines. Hundreds of families are currently being provided with our free bread and medical services. To make the winter more bearable, we are providing 500 families with extra “food bags” from December to February 2026.

Passionate for Jesus

Our church in Kobane is frequented by numerous converts from Islam who serve Jesus passionately. Among them are young women.
